Are imaged checks acceptable as proof of payment?

Can I access my account information via the telephone?

You may speak to a customer service specialist by calling 1.888.762.4762. The hours for our Sales & Service Center are M-F 7:30 am - 6 pm and Sat. 8 am - noon. SNB Bank of Wichita is closed on Federal Holidays.

Do I need to balance my checkbook every month?

Balancing you account every month is the only way that you can assure that all of your transactions were recorded properly to your account. It is imperative that you balance your account upon receipt of your statement. Learn how to balance your statement by viewing the simple instructions on the back of your SNB statement.

How do I change my address on my account?

It is your responsibility to maintain a current address on any financial accounts. SNB makes it easy:

For your protection an address change made over the phone will also require written documentation of the change.

How soon after I make a deposit is my money available to me?

Generally, the first $100 of your deposit will be available to you immediately on the same business day the bank receives your deposit. The remaining funds will be available on the first business day after the day we receive your deposit.

As a general policy, your funds will be available by no later than the fifth business day after your deposit is received. It could be less than 5 days if the check is drawn on an SNB Bank of Wichita account, is a government or bank check, or the check is drawn on a local bank.

If I move out of state do I have to close my SNB account?

No, in fact we encourage you to always utilize your SNB account wherever your career or travels take you. Electronic banking and the services we offer make your account accessible 24 hours a day. As long as your account has activity you will have the convenience of avoiding any dormant account fees. If you have to close your account simply write a letter to the address below stating your account number, listing any outstanding checks, when you want it closed, and where and how to send you any money left in the account.

What do I do if my SNB VISA® CheckCard or ATM card is lost or stolen?

If you feel your card has been lost or stolen, it is imperative that you immediately contact SNB. If calling during normal business hours, call 888.762.4762 and ask for the ATM department. After normal business hours, call our Emergency Hotline toll free number, 1.800.554.8969 and receive assistance 24 hours a day.

What is a statement and why do I need it?

A statement is a record of the transactions made to your account during a time period, usually 30 days. Your deposits, withdrawals (checks, ATMs, POS, or CheckCard) or fees assessed to your account will be listed on your statement. Use your statement to ensure that all of your transactions are properly recorded to your account.

What is the difference between a minimum daily balance and an average daily balance?

A minimum daily balance is the minimum amount you must maintain in your account each day. Average daily balance takes the balance in your account daily, combines it and then divides it by the number of days in that statement cycle. (Your account could drop as low as $100, but your average daily balance could still be at $500.) Typically an average daily balance is easier to maintain than a minimum daily balance.

What type of transactions can I make at an SNB ATM?

If funds are available, you can make cash withdrawals and transfers from one SNB account to another. You may also make deposits and transact balance inquiries at most SNB ATM machines. Non-SNB and cash dispense machines may have limited service.

Why was I charged for using another bank's ATM?

When an SNB customer uses an ATM other than an SNB ATM, two separate fees will generally be charged to the customer's account. A non-SNB ATM fee will be charged to offset the network expense of using the ATM. Recently many banks have also begun charging a customer convenience fee as well. The bank that owns the ATM that was used charges the fee to the account.

Deposits received through the mail will be posted to your account within one business day of receiving the deposit. A receipt will be mailed to you the day the deposit is processed. Self-addressed envelopes are available for your convenience.
